wild kingdom.....
dear jo, dom, em, dylan, and nicky:
i was in a rush to take up early (not that 7:30 am was early for me). although today is my day off (summer schedule), i had to email a document to one of the directors at my work. i promise myself a long time ago not to mix work with personal life but i promise this director that i will email it to him. i tried to do it last night before leaving work but i was just to overwhelmed with other stuff. in any case, i managed to do it within half an hour and decided to start my day afterwards.
i was planning to go to the bronx zoo today since the summer schedule was approved. i was hoping to take you (jo, em, and niko) but you (jo and em) had already planned something else with your mom and dad. so, it's just me and niko.
do you know that our house is only 15 minutes away by bus from the bronx zoo. i was amazed that we were that close. we got there early, half an hour early to be exact.
we managed to go to all the exhibit including your favorites - the tigers, lions, snakes, and your "minosorous" (you meant to say rhinoceros). while walking through the butterfly pavilion, you keep asking me to go out so that you can eat the cotton candy.
by the time we decided to get lunch, everybody else we're doing the same thing. finding a place to sit on was horrible. too many kids from camp are having a filed trip at the zoo as well. we had to rush for this table that became vacant as soon as i was ready to give up. we had pizza and soda for lunch (plus a hot dog for me of course). you wanted me to get a french fries but we skip it.
the zoo trip was basically 4 hours. not bad. as soon as we got off the bus, we went to the market to get a chocolate ice cream. you wanted me to buy another cotton candy but there's none so ice cream was what we settled to buy.
granda and mel were the only one home. granda was vacuuming while mel was doing god knows what. while i took a deserving nap, niko went to the backyard to play with joel (our neighbor) to play basketball.
after taking an hour nap, i decided to upload the zoo picture in my flickr account. after uploading just 11 pictures, i got this email saying that i reached my max as a free user. either i sign up for additional space or delete my old pictures. are they crazy?? sorry, i am not deleting any nor i am paying to upload any pictures. i just basically abandon the idea of uploading anymore pictures.
since i was getting bored, we (me and you dom) decided to watch a video that i rented - the last mimzy. you thought it was a scary movie at first but i assured you that it was not.
after that, you went to bed. i on the other hand decided to write this very long journal. actually while i was writing this, em surprise me behind me back. i like it when you play tricks on me. you (jo) on the other hand was ready to head upstairs to you room when i called you to come over. i asked you if you guys want to watch the dvd but i saw you (jo) staring at the computer. i think you saw the heading of "dear jo, niko...." and basically got curious. i tried to hide it but what the heck, you i let you read the first paragraph and showed you the actual blog. you said and i quot....."COOL". then you two headed upstairs and said our good nights.
i maybe getting older (and also you of course) but you guys are keeping young. we play toys, watch cartoons, and do kids stuff. i know i should be mature (more mature that is), but how can i be if i think a child's innocence is precious.

am I so tired......
dear jo, dom, em, dylan, and nicky:
waking up this morning was very tough. my whole body was aching. yesterday after work, instead of going to central park to work, i went to play volleyball. yes, i am a die hard V-Ball fan and it's the only sport that i play on a regular basis. i am not an amateur but i am not a professional player as well. i just play for fun. but anyway, open scrimmage was from 7 to 9 pm...and since it was a free game, i played the whole time. i was not planning to join in any team (i'm already in a team) but guess what, someone asked me and i said yes. SWEAT!!!!!!!! i am in big trouble. lesson to learn here: DO NOT ALWAYS SAY YES!!!! now i have to do damage control.
today, i left work at 7 pm. i need to finish a lot of stuff. tomorrow is my day-off (summer hours). now, what to do??? stay home or do something??? i guess you just have to wait and see.
g'nite.

hot, hot, hot..........
dear jo, dom, em, dylan, and nicky
just got home about 30 minutes ago. went to have dinner with j @ the cheesecake factory in white plains. one of these days, i'll take you with me when i go there. i had fish and chips (craving for british cuisine) while j had bang bang chicken.
it's a very hot day today. humid to be exact. i think the temperature was around mid-90's. i'm not really sure. i was basically inside the office all day. 2nd day of the summer schedule and i actually got in on time again - 10 minutes early to be exact.
nothing much really happened. no exciting news to mentioned except that i bumped into one of my former teammates from volleyball and he informed me that tomorrow is open scrimmage. i am not looking for a team (since i already have one) but to play for free, count me in.

let the summer begin.......
dear jo, dom, em, dylan, and nicky:
i had to wake-up very early this morning (around 6 am). i need to get out of the house before 7 so that i can be at work by 8. we officially start our summer schedule. what do i mean by summer schedule? instead of working 7 hours a day for 5 days, we work only for 4 days but of course longer hours. i am trying to do 8 am to 6 pm and hopefully work an extra 1/2 hour on two days to make up the one hour difference. i manage to get to make it 20 min. before 8 (if it wasn't for the long line at starbucks, i would have made it by 7:30 am).
anyway, by the time i got to the office, i was told that my two 8 am appointments were already there. bummer. i was hoping to eat my bagel first before seeing any appointments. i also have one voicemail already (my 8:30 appointment called to cancel...YES!!!!!!!!).
work in general today was very typical. 4 out of my 6 appointments showed. not bad at all.
after work, i changed to my workout clothes. NO! i don't go to the gym (although i paid almost every year for membership). it's very hot today and i was heading to central park to do my only exercise - speed walking/running. well i should not say my only exercise. i play competitive volleyball throughout the year. we are currently in-between season.
back to the central park. the walk is from 57th street to 96th street using the park as my route. lots of trees which i use as a shed against the harsh sun. it's very humid but at park is a bit cooler. by the middle of my route, i felt my leg cramp a bit. i had to slow down since it was too painful. by the time i reached 96th street, i was in a hurry to catch the train.

another beginning.........
i am completely revamping the idea of this blog.
when i originally started blogging, it was meant to be just anything, or in Seinfeld terms, basically about nothing. but within the past couple of weeks (specially last week), i wanted to keep a journal not for my own record but for my nieces and nephews. i want them to realized when they're all grown-up and i am as old as hell, that their uncle was once a cool guy (well maybe semi-cool).
