one way to avoid student loans...

one article caught my attention earlier today while eating my lunch was a story about "Duke Grad Student Secretly Live in a Van to Escape Loan Debt".  i would normally read a sentence or two and that's it.  but after reading the first paragraph, i found out he went to my alma mater, U@Buffalo.

i am trying to figure out how he accumulated 32k in student loans.  i had loans but i it wasn't that much...not even half of what he owed.  just wondering...

i was lucky to be in pinas last month and was able to attend the pahiyas festival in lucban, quezon.  

although i enjoyed it, i was a bit disappointed.  being half quezonian, i remember as a kid during the fiesta at my mom's hometown, all the houses were decorated in colorful kiping.  and you can actually go from one house to another and eat as much as you can.  those were the good ol' days.
