just look up...

with the college of cardinals being sequestered inside the sistine chapel to elect a new pope, all they need to do is look up for some inspiration.

**Michelangelo's fresco on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel (picture taken in may 2012)
i apologize for the side way shot.  taking pictures inside the chapel is not allowed so this was a stolen shot.

    1. i barely remember the spolarium - it's been decades - but i remember it being big. the ceiling of the sistine chapel is way bigger...but it's definitely an experience.

    1. the city of rome is home to so many cathedrals with intricate ceilings. close to where we stayed which is must for any traveler is the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore - the ceiling is gilded with gold.
